Construction begins on Wagga Wagga Defence houses
Construction has begun on two new Defence Housing Australia properties in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.
The houses are being constructed by local builder Southern Vale Homes, with funding coming from the federal government's Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan (NB-ESP).
The four-bedroom homes will be modern and contemporary in style, while at the same time adopting principles of sustainable design in order to achieve required energy ratings.
The construction of the two houses will inject approximately $618,000 into the local building industry.
The houses are scheduled to be completed in March 2010.
