Townsville constructions are on track

The construction of Defence homes in Townsville, North Queensland, is progressing well. Local builders have commenced construction on 80 houses, and a further 53 houses are in the design, development and approval stage.

Ten houses, funded by the Federal Government's Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan, have already been completed, almost three months ahead of schedule. The houses are the first of 20 Defence homes being built by Darryl Bogotto Constructions.

Mr Bogotto is a local builder who has been building homes for Defence Housing Australia (DHA) for over 15 years. Based in Townsville, Darryl Bogotto Constructions has been building in North Queensland for 25 years.

DHA Development Manager, Sam Chu, believes that these houses meet a new benchmark in the quality of Defence housing, and this high standard reflects the quality of DHA's contractors.

"Every year Defence challenges us to meet new standards of accommodation for their members, and these houses are exceptional in both design and liveability," he said.

"Our houses are of the highest quality and this reflects the quality of our builders. Darryl Bogotto is a well respected builder and has worked hard to get these houses built so quickly,"

"The staff in Townsville, particularly our Development Manager, have worked very closely with the builders to ensure this project is successful," Sam said.

The houses are a mix of three and four bedroom homes, and contain modern amenities including double garages, large living spaces, naturally landscaped gardens, and functional outdoor areas.
