Recognising the importance of Defence women and families

On the back of International Women’s Day, celebrated across the world, Defence Housing Australia (DHA) has recognised the critical role of women in the Defence force and female Defence spouses, and the ways in which we can offer extra support for Defence families.

At the Defence International Women’s Day event in Canberra, DHA took the opportunity to meet with hundreds of women who gathered to celebrate and mark the progression and accomplishments of women in the Defence force.

In addition to being able to ask questions about DHA’s services, the attending women were given promotional notepads, lip glosses and key rings. There was particular interest in DHA’s investment opportunities and some of DHA’s initiatives such as Rex D.Dog, a storybook for children.

DHA recognises that Defence women and female Defence spouses are often key decision makers in a Defence family. By providing resources such as the children’s storybook and location-specific information, DHA is helping families settle into their new location and offering some extra support to Defence families.
