The Hon. J.A.L. (Sandy) Macdonald is a non Executive Director of Incremental Oil and Gas Ltd and Defence Housing Australia. He was elected to the Senate in 1993, selected for a casual vacancy in 2000, and re-elected in 2001. He retired from the Senate on 30 June 2008. During his parliamentary career he was Deputy Leader of The Nationals in the Senate, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Parliamentary Secretary for Defence. His committee experience was broad but with particular reference to the areas of defence, security and trade. He has represented Australia internationally and has led delegations of both business people and parliamentarians on behalf of Government. He is a wool and beef producer near Quirindi, N.S.W.
